iPhone 4 Insurance... Is Your iPhone 4 In Danger?

In the UK, looking for iPhone 4 insurance is something pretty common. I say this because more and more people have an iPhone and have heard about insurances for it. Most of them consider that such a policy is not really needed since phones don't get lost that often. Well I have data here showing the exact opposite.

According to the British Crime Survey, eight out of ten people now own a mobile phone. Which is not at all surprising since the smart phones have gotten smarter and more accessible. The same survey also showed that since the new generation of iPhones got launched, there was a spike in theft related losses. The British Crime survey stated that two percent of the population of England and Wales have reported their phones stolen. Which might not seem such a big deal. But those 2% actually mean 850.000 victims. And these statistics are only for theft.

As the recession hits us harder and harder, you can expect a growth in mobile phone losses due to theft simply because they are an easy to sell commodity. The same survey shows that the most common locations where phones were stolen were pubs (16%), bars or clubs (19%) and in the street (20%). In six out of ten of such incidents, the phone was the only item stolen. This proves that above theory that thieves target phones first because they can be sold easily.

Since the iPhone 4 looks as good as it does and costs a few hundred pounds, it is more likely to be stolen. Maybe more than any other phones. And while this is bad enough, you also have to consider other dangers that are not always under your control.

You can always drop the iPhone on the ground or leave it somewhere and forget about it. Dropping a phone on the ground is maybe the most common thing that can happen to them.

So is your iPhone 4 in danger? Statistically, not really. But you have to consider the possibility of you losing the phone. It might take you a while to get the money for a replacement, time in which you won't be able to keep in touch with others all the time. Since the fee for iPhone 4 insurance isn't that great, it might be a good idea to get one. Policy claims usually get processed in 48 hours if everything is in order. Then you will get a new iPhone, or have the current one repaired in usually the same amount of time. It all depends on where you get your iPhone 4 insurance.
